IAQ INSPECTIONS

We develop and implement site specific sampling plans when we inspect buildings facing difficult IAQ issues. During a standard inspection we can investigate the presence of pollutants that includes VOCs, Carbon Dioxide, 2.5µm PM, and formaldehyde off-gassing.

In Ontario, If you are planning or are in the process of beginning a building renovation project, then you need to complete an asbestos survey. Materials that should be tested include plaster, vermiculite, joint compound, stippled ceiling, ceiling tiles, and vinyl flooring.

It is mandated by the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act that a Designated Substances Survey (DSS) must be completed prior to tendering for a contractor, as potential bidders must be aware of what hazardous materials may be present within a building.

All sampling completed by us will always include a baseline control sample, and we won’t collect samples from multiple areas using a single cassette; which is known as split sampling.

We only perform sampling that fully adheres to the highest industry standards and recommended sampling guidelines recognized by Health Canada and the American Industrial Hygiene Association.

Not only is asbestos abatement (removal) expensive, but in Ontario asbestos is also classified as a designated substance. That means that any building materials that can contain asbestos must be tested if they are going to be disturbed or removed by a contractor.
